It has been brought to my attention that these entries need dates.
So from now on, there will be a little number like this above each update

Nothin' but Puppet Superhero Love
So for 5 days Dust came up from Knoxville to visit me here in Boston. So for 5 days we did nothing but visit, read comic books, talk about puppets, and eat really good food. I'm not going to write too much about how Boston was during his visit, or what we went out and saw, because I know he's going to want to do that here .
It was entirely too much fun though. Especially the part where we dyed each other’s hair with Manic Panic. Dust has super short Forest Green hair now and I went Navy Blue.
Only, Dust's brown curls dyed perfectly even, while mine came out all sorts of smeary shades of blue. Dust has that sort of beautiful hair you only see on guys. I have hair that is stick straight and refuses to do much but be itself. The Manic Panic looks great, but it didn't change the fundamental nature of our hair. We are still ourselves, just ourselves in the spirit of Spring.
I’m kicking around the idea of having it all cut off super short myself. I mean, once one has become a librarian and devoted oneself to spinsterhood, one might as well reap the benefits of such a decision. Screw trying to be pretty for other people. I’m out of college, I have a new job, and my hair is blue for the first time in my life because it can be blue. I’ve always had to worry about looking a certain way so I could pay my bills, ever since I was a teen. Now I can kick back with my bad-ass master’s degree and enjoy my blue hair.
It was really good to see Dust again after 15 months. It was good to totally geek out with him over comic books. He brought me up entire story line runs of X-Force and JSA. I fed him Lynda Barry, the entire run almost of Batgirl and Birds of Prey. We talked about sexuality and Solomon Grundy. We tried to figure out who set Bruce Wayne up for murder. Both Dust and Aral think I should write a doctoral thesis on the changes in Wonder Woman’s underwear style over the decades, changes that clearly reflect our culture’s attitude towards Wonder Woman’s crotch.
I start my first professional 9 to 5 job at the Harvard Library of Foreign Studies Monday, so Dust’s timing for his trip could not have been more perfect. I got to have fun for 5 days straight before I have to buckle down and really put my head down and work for a while. Yea Dust!
In other news:
Get Your War On
If you haven’t seen this by now, then by all means click over. Get Your War On contains a lot of profanity and sarcasm, but the whole run of comics is just brilliant.
